As Principal-in-Charge, Max E. Williams, AIA, AICP is responsible for the management of the firm and architectural projects with a focus on client satisfaction in terms of budget, schedule, and coordination. He assures that the full resources of the firm and the individual experience of each team member are brought to bear on each project. Mr. Williams is also responsible for the administration of project teams by monitoring and coordinating staff and project consultants. He maintains project budgets and time schedules to ensure delivery of an accurate and complete package of services. He serves as an in-house resource for the technical staff on code issues and offers input on construction methodology and application.

Mr. Williams founded Williams Architects, Inc. in 1982. Mr. Williams has over thirty-five years of experience providing civic, institutional, and private clients with the highest level of service and innovative design solutions. His project work encompasses all building types including: transportation facilities, corporate offices/headquarters, maintenance facilities, city administrative offices, county offices, healthcare facilities, industrial/commercial/retail centers and recreation facilities.

Prior to establishing the firm of Williams Architects, Inc., Mr. Williams was associated with two prestigious architecture and planning firms. As a project and environmental planner for Victor Gruen Associates, an international planning firm known for the creation of the shopping mall concept, Mr. Williams contributed his expertise to such projects as the expansion of the St Louis International Airport, Interstate 10 corridor studies, CALTRANS neighborhood impact assessment model and The Denver Regional Rapid Transit System. While on staff at William L. Pereira Architects, an internationally renowned firm, Mr. Williams was the branch office manager and Architect for the firms office in Tehran, Iran, and Doha, Qatar. His responsibilities included program manager, project manager, and construction coordinator.

Mr. Williams received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from California State Polytechnic University at San Luis Obispo in 1969, and his Masters in Planning (Urban and Regional Environment) from the University of Southern California in 1974. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects and The American Institute of Certified Planners. He is licensed to practice in California
